Your enquiry and your details.

This is a factual explanation of the enquiry form in this private version of Tin Fox.

Who is responsible?

Tin Fox is part of H-ola BV, a private limited company (BV, besloten vennootschap) with enterprise and VAT number BE 1003.762.235. H-ola BV is responsible for processing your details through this website. More details are in Legal information.

What is stored?

Your name, email address, optional company, optional current website, project type, message, language and submission time. A technical request key prevents duplicate submissions when you retry. The handling status is also stored. If you give a website, Tin Fox may analyse its publicly accessible pages to prepare a reply.

Why?

To review your request and contact you about your project. The form does not subscribe you to a newsletter.

Simple usage measurement

Tin Fox counts which service and project links are opened and whether an enquiry is started, submitted or left unfinished. Only the event type, a short page or link label, language and time are stored. This measurement uses no cookies and stores no IP address, user agent or visitor profile in the Tin Fox database.

Events older than 90 days are deleted daily. The owner overview shows 30 days. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. Page-exit signals are best effort.

Tin Fox also counts visits to its pages. For each page view it counts the page path, the domain of the referring site (never the full address), the campaign tags utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign of the link, a coarse device type and the browser family, and the country and city, which the website derives from your IP address at that moment on its own server, using DB-IP’s free IP database; no request goes to another party for this.

Country and city: IP Geolocation by DB-IP, licensed under CC BY 4.0.

To count unique visitors per day, a hash of your IP address and browser identification (user agent) is made with a random key that changes every day. The key and the hashes are deleted after that day, at the latest the next morning. Your IP address and user agent are never stored.

Only daily totals are kept, without a fixed end date; they contain no IP address and no user agent. Campaign tags that look like an email address or a long number are never stored themselves but counted as “Other”, as are referring domains, campaign tags and cities beyond 50 different ones per day. There are no cookies, no visitor profile and no tracking across days or sites. With Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control nothing is measured.

Abuse protection

To limit abuse of the form and the measurement, the website temporarily keeps a short-lived derivative of your IP address, not stored in readable form: a hash with a random key that changes every hour. It is deleted within about two hours and is not linked to your enquiry or to the usage data.

Who can see it?

Requests and aggregate usage counts are stored in this website’s database. The private inbox is restricted to Olivier Miserez’s configured owner account. The website, its database and the uploaded images are on a server in Germany (EU) rented from Hetzner Online GmbH. That server receives your IP address on every visit; what happens to it is described above. Your request is not public content.

The interactive examples

The fictional CRM and booking data exist only during your visit. They are not stored as customer records and are separate from the real enquiry form.
